Gas Prices

My Thoughts on Gas Prices

I wish gas prices were $6, hell, $8 a gallon. You know why? Because then companies would stop fucking around and put all their effort into inventing a car that gets 100 miles per gallon. That’s all I want, just 100. Don’t even think for a second that it can’t be done. It hasn’t been done yet because A. No company cares enough to devote 100% of their energy and resources to making it happen, and B. As gas prices rise, oil companies are reaping hundreds of billions of dollars, squeezing every last penny out of every man, woman, and child in the modern world, and I’m sure they are paying people off left and right to keep it that way.

Don’t tell me it can’t be done. Right this second there is this little robot tootling around in the dirt of Mars digging little holes and making little sand castles and analyzing soil. Think about that, it’s going on RIGHT…NOW… And you telling me that my little Saturn Ion cannot possibly go from point A to point B for less than what it costs right now? Please.

I hope gas prices hits 8 dollars per gallon, because then people will CARE enough to come up with a solution.

I agree this will force “progress” of oil, petrol or gas free engine to use an alternative fuel that would bountiful.
Water can now be converted into hydrogen power, but that is dangerous. In fact Japan has a car prototype that can do just that on recent news.
But better yet anyone can modify their car to convert water into a more efficient brown’s gas (HHO) that will only supplement your normal gas usage. It is not a 100% replacement, but can double the gas mileage in your car. This of course depends on how fuel efficient and the age of the car would be to get double or more the gas mileage. But it works!

Yeah, my thoughts exactly… They’ve had the technology to make electric cars 20 years ago, that’s been solved already. It looks like we’re just gonna need to use up all the oil first.

i agree on one hand, but disagree on the other.

It’s easy to say that it is possible to create a car that gets 100 MPG.

However, it is hard to change over the MILLIONS upon MILLIONS of people that are driving cars.

The sheer math on the conversion ratio is monstrous. So yes, it would be nice to see it get pushed, on the other hand it’s not as easy as $8 or $9 dollars a gallon of gas.

In fact, I’m willing to bet that if those prices do come to fruition, things are going to be really bad.

I agree that in the long run more expensive gas prices now would be a good thing, but not quite for the same reason. If gas gets exponentially more expensive, individual will start looking at alternative forms of transportation. Once enough people switch to anything besides a gas powered car to make the industry significantly less profitable new companies will arise around the alternative transportation people picked or bring new ways to move to the market.

That image totally reminds me of the end movie for Fallout 2. You know? You take the big oil rig out to the enclave’s center. I’m really excited about Fallout 3!

You are so right about that. It’s about time we stopped our oil dependency and get our butt in search for other alternatives.

we need to regulate oil companies. if we develope a car that gets 100 miles a gallon the oil companies will raise fuel prices to compensate for that.. regulatio , alternate fuels and fire every republican and democrat in our government and take the country back from BIG BUSINESS and the RICH!!!
